Lord, help me not to be indifferent to the plight of others. Because I cannot see them face to face, I sometimes shut out the silent pleas for help that are conveyed in images and television clips. May I become like Simon for them in their hour of need. May I take on the role of servant in imitation of Jesus who came ‘to serve and not to be served’
